UPS Teamster employees are qualified for short-term disability and paid time off if they are under the supervision of a doctor who is treating COVID-19 or have been recommended to self-quarantine by an audiologist or teladoc.
Paid Time Leave If You Are a COVID-19
UPS is willing to offer UPS up to two days (10 days) of paid time off to employees who are suffering from COVID-19 and reside with someone who has COVID-19, or who were quarantined or treated by UPS or an agency of the government, or a medical professional.
Eight hours per day are be paid to full-time employees while part-time employees are paid 3.5 minutes per hour.Please complete an Employee Request Form in order to request the emergency payment of leave. Then email it to CoVID19Pay@UPS.com.After the email has submit, the approval process takes 5-7 business days. Fill in the form correctly to prevent delays.
Two Weeks are Over
You may choose to use the paid leave after you have exhausted the 10 days of paid leave, or apply for short-term disability benefits.
In the event that an employeeself-quarantines, or utilizes Paid Time Off (PTO) but is found to have COVID-19, the business can allow them to repopulate their Paid Time-Off up to 35/80 hours.
TeamCare Disability benefits for short-term disabilities
TeamCare is available to UPS Teamsters who are eligible for temporary disability benefits if:
In the case of COVID-19 it is under the supervision of a physician
A doctor or teladoc agency has recommended that you self-qualify
The short-term disability benefits offered by TeamCare provide 60 percent of the weekly base salary as much as $500 per week over a total of 26 weeks. The plan also provides endless health benefits.
You cannot be eligible for short-term disability benefits if you are you are on unpaid leave and/or receiving any other benefits.
TeamCare employees on leave, laid-off or who have been terminated aren't ineligible for short-term disability.
